Founded in 1966, the Manchaca Optimist Club is a member of Optimist International, a worldwide volunteer organization made up of more than 2,500 local Clubs. We promote opportunities for the children of Manchaca, Texas and surrounding areas through support of a thriving Baseball and Softball program with an enhanced focus on scholastic achievement through scholarship programs promoted by Optimist International. These include Youth Appreciation Week, the OI Oratorical Contest, and the OI Essay Contest. In addition to supporting the Manchaca Optimist Youth Sport Complex (MOYSC), the club also supports like minded organizations who offer structured opportunities for youth and their families.
